Album

This is one of the better Velvet Underground bootlegs, five of its six tracks coming from a live show at the Hilltop Rock Festival in New Hampshire on August 2, 1969, topped off by a version of Sister Ray from Philadelphia in the spring of 1970. Despite containing only six songs, it's hardly short on playing time, adding up to 76 minutes, as most of the tunes are done in real, stretched-out arrangements. If this were the only recording of the band from this period, it would be really valuable. The Velvet Underground is the self-titled third studio album by American rock band the Velvet Underground. Released in March 1969, it was their first record with Doug Yule, who was a replacement for John Cale. Recorded in 1968 at TTG Studios in Hollywood, California, the album's sound-consisting largely of ballads and straightforward rock songs-marked a notable shift in style from the band's previous recordings. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the album number 314 in their list of the 500. Early primitive Velvet Underground from the lo-fi Lou Reed & Velvet Underground was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1964 by singerguitarist Lou Reed, multi-instrumentalist John Cale, guitarist Sterling Morrison, and drummer Angus MacLise replaced by Moe Tucker in 1965. The band was initially active between 1965 and 1973, and was briefly managed by the pop artist Andy Warhol, serving as the house band at the Factory and Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable events from 1966 to 1967. The Velvet Underground was the first album released on Verves parent company, MGM Records. After the mild success of White LightWhite Heat, the band was promoted to MGM proper and signed a two-album contract with the label. TVU had a far mellower folk-rock sound than their previous albums, a direct result of Lou Reeds desire to make the band sound more commercially-friendly. Unfortunately, this effort failed. Consider this album to be the Velvet Undergrounds last album, not that Squeeze bullshit. As their record label at the time pushed the group to create hit singles, the decision gave them the idea to name its album. Loaded, is a classic rock masterpiece. The Velvet Underground 1969. This self-titled album was the first to step to move away from Verve records and its push away after the White Light White Heat album. Lou Reed stated that White LightWhite Heat was a terrible mistake and wanted to demonstrate something more creative. Scepter Studio Sessions is a demo album recorded by The Velvet Underground in April 1966, produced by Norman Dolph. The bulk of these sessions make up what would become The Velvet Underground & Nico, the budget of these sessions were between 1,500 - 3,000. This demo was cut as a rough version of The Velvet Underground & Nico's first album and was cut April 24th 1966, and sent to various record labels with hopes to bring potential interest of signing the band.
