Violin Concertos by Shostakovich & Tchaikovsky. Violin Concerto No. 1 In A Minor, Op. 1 in A Minor for Violin and Orchestra, Op. Adagio, Concerto No. 99: II. Allegro non Troppo and more. 7 tracks 71:14. Shostakovich & Tchaikovsky: Violin Concertos. David Oistrakh Artist Format: Audio CD. This re-issue presents the great David Oistrakh at his incomparable best. He was unique in many ways: his incredible technical ease made playing seem as natural as breathing his tone was warm, rich, invariably pure, infinitely nuanced and deeply expressive even at high speeds he never sounded rushed-there was always time for poised transitions and liberties and for caressing important details. By Dmitri Shostakovich - Itzhak Perlman, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra & Ilya Gringolts. The Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Opus 77, was originally composed by Dmitri Shostakovich in 194748. He was still working on the piece at the time of the Zhdanov decree, and in the period following the composer's denunciation it could not be performed. In the time between the work's initial completion and the first performance, the composer, sometimes with the collaboration of its dedicatee, David Oistrakh, worked on a number of revisions. The concerto was finally premiered by the Leningrad. Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35: III. Finale Allegro vivacissimo, 10:14. Nocturne Moderato, 12:02.
